Two words on a banner, and the second one does all the work. Once-Always. Cities Service put that promise under a trefoil with an inset triangle and ran it in plain black and white while every competitor was reaching for more color. The restraint was the point — a company confident enough to skip the crown, the animal, and the sunburst.

Printed on a Gildan 18500 heavy blend hooded sweatshirt — 8 oz cotton-poly, classic fit, double-lined hood with a color-matched drawcord and a front pouch pocket. Tubular knit with no side seams. Tear-away label. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low.

Henry Doherty assembled Cities Service in 1910 out of a tangle of small utility and oil holdings, and the trefoil followed the company across the Midwest and the South for half a century. The name went away in 1965 when the brand became CITGO, but the clover mark stayed in circulation long enough that plenty of people still recognize it on a barn wall. This design comes from a 1980s silk screen ceramic reproduction of the original graphic, part of a set that has been in the family collection for decades.

The perfect gift for the collector who prefers monochrome signage, the mechanic with a black-and-white shop aesthetic, the road-trip photographer hunting ghost signs, the dad who worked a CITGO station before it was a CITGO station, and anyone who appreciates a logo that trusts its own shape.

The Faded Label Co. — keeping the golden age of American roadside art alive, one product at a time.
