Kanotex ran aviation fuel through the golden age of American flight — and left behind one of the most striking logo designs in plains states petroliana. The sunflower star, the bold lettering, the orange and green color scheme that stopped drivers cold at the pump island. It belongs on a mug.
White glossy ceramic mug, available in 11oz and 15oz. Dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Comfortable C-handle. The Kanotex Aviation logo wraps the front face — strong color, crisp detail. Lead-free and BPA-free.
Kanotex Refining Company began operations in Caney, Kansas in 1909 and grew into one of the dominant independent petroleum brands across Kansas and Oklahoma. The Aviation grade fuel was their premium product — positioned for the emerging aviation market of the 1920s and '30s, when small regional airports and barnstormers were turning gasoline into something closer to magic. Kanotex was acquired by Anderson-Prichard Oil Corporation in 1953 and eventually absorbed into APCO. The globes and signs it left behind have been among the most sought-after pieces in petroliana collecting for decades.
The perfect gift for the petroliana collector who knows the Kanotex story, the aviation history enthusiast, the Kansas or Oklahoma history buff, or anyone who starts their morning with strong coffee and an appreciation for the brands that built the American plains.
The Faded Label Co. — keeping the golden age of American roadside art alive, one product at a time.
