He’s got a lit salute in one hand and a grin that says he’s done this before. Star Brand Eight 2-Inch Salutes is one of the most graphic fireworks labels to come out of mid-century American packaging design — navy blue, burnt red, kraft paper, and a figure that looks like he walked straight out of a Saturday afternoon serial. The Faded Label Co. put it on a racerback tank.
Printed on a premium Bella+Canvas Women’s Ideal Racerback Tank — lightweight slim fit, scoop neck, tear-away label. 60% combed ring-spun cotton, 40% polyester, 4 oz/yd². DTG printed. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Available in Midnight Navy, Red, Warm Gray, and White — sizes XS through 2XL.
Salutes were among the loudest consumer fireworks sold in mid-20th century America — two-inch tubes packed for maximum report, sold in small boxes with labels designed to catch the eye at the fireworks stand. The crossed salutes, the starburst, the bold typography running down both sides — this label was built to sell in a crowded marketplace and it did its job well. The kraft paper background gives it a warmth that modern packaging simply doesn’t produce.
The perfect gift for vintage fireworks collectors, Fourth of July enthusiasts, fans of mid-century American graphic design, women who appreciate genuine label art, and anyone who grew up knowing exactly what a salute sounded like.
The Faded Label Co. — keeping the golden age of American art alive, one product at a time.
