National Refining Company dreamed up the name "White Rose" back in 1890, but the brand's real home became Canada. After the Canadian Oil Company went bankrupt in 1908, National bought its assets and reorganized as Canadian Oil Companies, Limited — selling White Rose gasoline across the country for over half a century.
